Design, implementation and operation of sustainable energy systems particularly in integrated H2 and renewable energy systems
Types of Technology
Energy production, transmission and conversion
Fuel cell, hydrogen production
Detailed Description
Using specially developed methodologies, Bryte Energy Ltd designs and implements sustainable energy systems, particularly those that integrate renewables and hydrogen. These may be grid-connected or autonomous, stationary and/or transport applications. Emphasis is placed upon maximising safety, energy efficiency, reliability of equipment and return on investment. This design model can be scaled to address local, regional or larger systems. The company also undertakes strategic energy studies, technology market analysis and energy roadmapping for regional, national and international energy systems. Such studies are underpinned by the company’s proprietary whole-system analysis software. Typical projects include: • Feasibility studies for energy systems • Modelling, sizing, specification development for energy projects • Strategic energy studies and market analysis • Demand management systems using batteries and/or hydrogen • Sensitivity analysis for energy systems • Design and integration of electrical systems • Design and implementation of monitoring and control systems The company designed and operates one of the world's first integrated hydrogen and renewable energy systems, which has been used as a demonstration and research facility since 2004. The company is currently installing hydrogen refuelling facilities for hydrogen vehicle trials in the UK. The company has particular expertise in the production of hydrogen by electrolysis powered from intermittent and dynamic renewable energy resources and has developed electrical distribution and control methodologies for the management of complex renewable energy systems. Reports carried out by the company are being used by utility companies, technology developers and policy-makers to guide strategy on sustainable energy issues.
