Sandvik Sanergy HT - the tailormade steel for SOFC interconnects
Types of Technology
Fuel cell, hydrogen production
Detailed Description
Sandvik Sanergy HTTM is a ferritic chromium alloy especially designed for the use as interconnect in solid oxide fuel cells. The unique chemical composition gives the alloy a good high temperature corrosion resistance combined with excellent surface conductivity in the formed oxide scale. These two features makes the steel a very well suited material for interconnects in SOFC applications. Sandvik Sanergy HTTM is easily formed and has a thermal expansion matching the ceramic parts of the typical SOFC cell. In addition, during the year Sandvik will launch a coil coated version of Sanergy HTTM, where a surface coating of Cobolt is applied to significantly lower the Chromium evaporation during operation. Both products will be readily available in production volume quantities with attractive delivery times
Areas of Application
We are interested in getting in touch with cell and stack manufacturers of SOFCs, to discuss the present, as well as future, material needs.
