New method to gasify biomass for hydrogen production
Types of Technology
Fuel cell, hydrogen production
Fuel liquefaction, gasification
Renewable Sources of Energy
Detailed Description
A German company has developed a new method to gasify biomass. With this new technology the output of pollutants is reduced significantly and the share of hydrogen is higher than in conventional gasification processes. The operational capability of this technique is proven. The gas produced has been chemically analyzed. The average composition of energy efficient components is: 46.9% hydrogen, 16.7% carbon monoxide and 10.8% methane. The prototype is primarily for wood chips but is also for other biomass.
Areas of Application
The company is looking for a partner to develop a fuel cell that is able to use the improved gas mixture efficiently.
