Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited is developing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology which can provide reliable, energy efficient, high-quality, and low-emission electricity from widely available natural gas and renewable fuels. CFCL is developing SOFC products for small-scale on-site micro combined heat and power (micro-CHP) and distributed generation units that co-generate electricity and heat for domestic use. CFCL is developing micro-CHP products with leading appliance partners and utility customers in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Holland, and Japan

These components are typically part of the cold balance of plant and are focussed on commercial production rather than research and development. The potential suppliers must technically collaborate with CFCL and CFCL appliance manufacturers with a long term view of the component supplier providing SOFC components for the future product direct to the appliance manufacturer.
